My Poetry

February 28, 2012

My Consoler, You suffered unimaginable pain for our sake, but when we suffer or struggle with things infinitely smaller in comparison You will us to Yourself. You want us to cling to You and seek You alone for true solace and comfort. You, my Lord, love us with the most selfless and pure Love. How blessed are we! What Joy is found in You and You alone!

Thank You for the little things; the little gifts You give to brighten our days. Nothing escapes Your notice. You know every thought and worry of Your beloved. i love You.

my home is by Your altars

"As the sparrow finds a home
and the swallow a nest to settle her young,
my home is by Your altars, Lord of hosts,
 my King and my God!"
- Psalm 84:4

Persevere.

'We must not leave off our prayers because of distractions and restlessness of mind, although it seems useless to go on with them. He who perseveres for the whole of his accustomed time, gently recalling his mind to the subject of his prayer, merits greatly.'
-St. Philip Neri

"Thus with various scruples he (the devil) keeps them in constant alarm, seeking to distract them from their exercises, as if God has forgotten or forsaken them. Nothing can be more false than to believe this, for the advantages arising from distractions, spiritual dryness, and the like, are innumerable, provided the soul comprehends and complies with what God expects of her in those cirsumstances. And God only expects patience and perseverance. For the prayers and exercises of a soul, deprived of all satisfaction in what she does, is the delight of the Almighty, according to St.Gregory."
- Dom Lorenzo Scupoli, The Spiritual Combat and A Treatise on Peace of Soul.

O Soul...

Be not sad, nor weep, o soul,
For thou art wonderf'lly made.
Thy Lord alone shall make thee whole,
"Draw near Me", He hast bade.

If, o soul, thou knew His Love,
Thy heart would burst with Joy!
The heavenly King, reigning above,
His Son, for us, employ'd.

Don't you see, o poor, sweet soul
How precious thou art to Him!
He descended to us, from seat of gold,
And fought; your heart to win.

Have Hope, no fear; rejoice o soul!
For He hast won thee life.
Such mercy forgives thy sins of ol',
Redeems all worldly strife.

I don't claim that my poetry is very good, but it is something I enjoy doing. It's my own little way of trying to praise and give glory to my God. I hope you enjoyed reading this :)

What Wondrous Love Is This?

I absolutely love this song. I think this performed so well - Glory be to God!

A Love Song

Majestic sovereign, timeless wisdom,
Your kindness melts my hard, cold soul.
Handsome lover, selfless giver,
Your beauty fills my dull, sad eyes.
I am Yours, You made me.
I am Yours, You called me.
I am Yours, You saved me.
I am Yours, You loved me.
I will never leave Your presence.
Give me death, give me life.
Give me sickness, give me health.
Give me honor, give me shame.
Give me weakness, give me strength.
I will have whatever You give.
Amen.
- St. Teresa of Avila
