O Soul...

Why I want to study Theology

I was reading my Theology assignment in Frank Sheed's book Theology and Sanity when I came across this quote (the chapter was on the Trinity so that's what "it" refers to - the mystery of the Trinity) :

"He revealed it to us because He loves men and so wants not only to be served by them but truly known by them. It is the surest mark of love to want to be known."

This is why I want to study Theology. I love my God more than anything and so I want to know Him as well as I can. My finite little mind will never know everything that He is but I do love gaining new knowledge of Him. The more I know of Him the more deeply I love Him and am in awe of Him.

Lent.

My life is cluttered. I attach myself to many things, often unknowingly, in the hopes if bettering myself and obtaining happiness or love. All these attachments cannot give me peace; they can only weigh me down and crowd my life. The happiest life is the simplest life. If I only depend on Jesus and desire only to do His will then shall I find peace of heart. Lent is the perfect time to "cleanse my life"; to fast from pleasures and refocus on what I truly need.. my Jesus. :)
